Seluri
"Something I will never get over is how angular your houses are. I'd much rather be back home in my seluri then here if I'm honest. Just not enough twists."The seluri, the symbol of civilian life in Simmeri culture, and one of the simplest encapsulations of their focus on making beauty out of the mundane. While not all citizens live in these structures, the majority do and often become closely tied to these houses. Due to their design, however, they often are not as appreciated by other races. These are the homes of Simmeri first and for most, and they have become a point of contention on Velani as there are far more seluri then other housing units, even if there aren't as many Simmeri to live in them. Despite this developing negative connotation on the Federation capital, they are still the symbol of simple beauty in Simmeri lives, and this will likely not change any time soon.
Purpose / Function
Seluri are a form of housing in Simmeri society, generally large enough for two or three occupants to live comfortably. Due to their commonplace usage, the housing units have become synonymous with basic civilian life, and as a side effect they are only built in greater numbers as this attachment is further internalized.
Architecture
Seluri are tall and winding in their structure, forming into a twisted archway of some kind. The entrance is usually underneath the archway, being a form of energy lift, that pulls its occupant into the interior. The inside of the building is just as twisting as the exterior, with only a bit more stability and rigidness to allow for the proper placement of furniture and electronics. The ceiling is especially high to allow for proper movement throughout the house by the native Simmeri, while also being in reach of the average arm length to allow them to access ceiling furniture and electronics easily in their day to day lives.
