Saccharo Elf

Saccharo Elves? They are made of stardust, dreams, and the imagination of young children. They are the ultimate fairy tale except; as we all know Fairies exist and Saccharo Elves do not.
~The Adventure of Caldius
Not everyone agrees that Saccharo elves exist. They do all agree that they use to exist a very long time ago. Some of Huggleland's most fascinating artifacts are believed to be tied to the Saccharo elves. The government has consistently supported the existence of Saccharo elves and in some areas has gone so far as to make it unlawful to deny their existence. Yet, despite all the evidence and propaganda, a large majority of the population believe they are little more than an ancient, obsolete race, made to be more fanciful than they really were.   Despite the doubt of their existence, they are credited with the existence of some of the oldest and most powerful music. Most of the music either has no lyrics or the lyrics have been long forgotten. Often used during various ceremonies, these musical works of art are known for their ability to bring out or amplify the emotions of the musician and the listeners. They are also credited as the first to use sugar for food. It is believed that before they shared their discovery, sugar was used in construction, medicine, and even cosmetically before using it in food. Anytime a celebration is being held, it is considered good fortune to give away various sweets in honor of the Saccharo Elves. Certain sweets are reserved for very specific occasions and sugar itself is considered to be of high value throughout Huggleland.   If the Saccharo Elves still exist, it is said they have not changed much over the centuries. They appear ethereal and almost dream like in appearance. Often confused for hallucinations or divine beings in most literary pieces, it is unclear what their day-to-day focus would be. There are ruins that are believed to be the remains of large settlements of Saccharo Elves. These ruins have very intricate and delicate looking features such as hand carved spirals that reach up to the sky and wide domes covered in tiny pieces of stained glass. The structures were extremely well built often hiding their true age.
