Stoneshire Mercenary Company

The mainstay of the soldiers and guards within Fort Mestran, loyal to lord Stoneshire the former commander of the company turned baronial lord. There are two “sub-divisions” within the company with the battle-hardened and experience core of the troop being far more heavily armored and well trained with most of them acting as either supervisors or other leadership within the guard though they do often simply do patrol the city. 
The other group is newer or freshly minted guards that have been hired since coming to the fort and securing it as a new town. Generally less well-armed armored and trained than those who have served Stroneshire longer. Often these are men and women who have yearned for a frontier life or are family members, though often distant ones, of longer serving soldiers. 
They are a fair and courteous group to the denizens of Fort Mestran. They now typically operate under Magistrate Edwin leaving Lord Stoneshire to see to matters of state and the affairs of people rather than military command.  Magistrate Edwin had been Lord Stoneshires second in command during the group's existence as a mercenary company
