Career

Qualifications

Guardians typically have degrees in childrearing, child education, or child psychology. Additional certification is required to become a guardian.

Career Progression

Guardians gradually adopt more children over the course of their career. Once they have four children in their care, they stop receiving new children. Their career ends 18 years after they adopt their fourth child. Until they have a full complement of children, guardians assist with other tasks: working in the nursery, assisting more experienced guardians, helping new guardians, or teaching classes to children. As their children grow older and leave the creche, they gradually take on other tasks. They may return to other guardian tasks or start gaining experience in a new career.
