Order of Perseverance HQ
The Order of Perseverance headquarters or OP HQ for short, is located in Askolsall, the capital city of Askaria and also where King Hugh resides. It is located just outside the inner wall, giving it plenty of room for barracks and training accommodations. This also makes it accessible to the common folk, since the inner wall is off limits without the proper papers or an appointment.
It's a large imposing building, four stories high, mostly squire with towers on each corner. The front entrance protrudes, has two smaller towers on either side and has crenulations on top. It has a courtyard with lots of training equipment and a pit for small skirmishes. It's accompanied with separate external buildings for a smithy and the stables.
High alert
A defining feature of the headquarters is the portal that's just beyond the entrance. This portal has a direct link to Azmarin, allowing reinforcements to get there really fast. The king's castle has a portal connected to multiple major allied cities, greatly decreasing the time at which an army could be assembled. Many people reside within the headquarters, in a high state of preparedness. They regularly switch places with the people stationed within Azmarin itself, so the others can get some relief. In a way, the order has basically replaced the king's army for the most part. Many of the king's soldiers are also members of the order and still get paid by the king. The king would be the first to admit that the order is a weight of his shoulders and admires how well they are organized. Since the attacks on Azmarin are very sporadic, it is believes another attack is imminent, but it has been for years now. Some are wondering whether the attacks have simply stopped. Maybe their previous victory was such a success, that the enemy has given up. In recent history, it took 6 to 10 years for a new army to reach Azmarin. It's been 15 years now since the last attack. This has the leadership of the order worried that this next attack will be especially strong and well-prepared, while their resources continue to dwindle. The kingdom of Askaria is poor and endebted, which further exacerbates the precariousness of the situation.
