Dire Parrot

Standing around 1 meter at the shoulder as adults, Dire Parrots are tricksters and mimics in the temperate forests of Brunivard. Though their species originated in the lowland jungles, this line of parrots has adapted to the temperate plateaus. Dire Parrots are omnivorous. While they enjoy berries and are fond of cracking open tree nuts with their powerful bills, they will also use their amazing powers of vocal mimicry to imitate the mating calls of other animals, luring the incautious to their doom.
