My Summer Camp 2021 Worldbuilding Pledge Document
Introduction
Lately I haven't had as much time to focus on Hybridis as I'd like, so I'm using this event as a way to get some fun work in on the side while I deal with all the boring work. And now for the questions so this is a proper pledge.Q1: Which projects are your worldbuilding efforts tied to?
I'm currently preparing to GM a oneshot, so that will influence what I do for the first part of the month. I also want to focus on content related to the manuscript I wrote for my senior thesis.Q2: What world are you working on?
Hybridis of course.Q3: Which area of the world(s) are you working on?
Nisha's school and the Mondragnes region. The former is the setting of the oneshot, the latter is the setting of the novel. I would also like to at least establish some more basic details about Esrena and Hirzen, one only has a single article, the other only has a character I have yet to post about. Establishing the basics about them can do a lot to flesh out the other regions.Q4: How much are you aiming to complete?
I'm going to try and get bronze. If I can go higher that's great, but I'm not in a good position at the moment to go all in for this. Even just one article will be a win for me.Q5: When will you write?
Between 1-3PM each day, if I don't have a more urgent matter to work on.Q6: Who is your support network?
My friends in a writing discord, especially the ones playing in my oneshot. They already know a lot about Hybridis that I haven't posted here yet. I also have my family for general support.Organizing My Worldbuilding
I have reorganized the table of contents for Hybridis to better match my intent and be more clear. I think of Hybridis in terms of regions, so that should be reflected in how I show the information to people. I've also learned how to use Art Breeder for image creation, but using images as inspiration only works for brand new ideas with me, not something that already has an identity. I have heavily revised the article on dragons to serve as an example of what my future articles will look like.Article Release Plan
My article release plan is a fairly simple one.- Check the article in view mode.
- Post it to my writing communities.
- Post it to Twitter with the #WASummerCamp hashtag, and others such as #worldbuilding if I can make the space for it in the tweet.
- Add it to the bottom of this pledge document, so people will be able to see everything I made for this in one place.
