Birth and Early Life

Celesta Estheim was born and raised in the city-state of Gridania, to parents of two different clans. Her mother was a Keeper and a member of the Nbolo tribe. Her father, a Seeker of the Drakes who was a native to Ul'dah. Her birth name is actually U'kami Nbolo, reflecting both clan heritages in the name she received, but circumstances much later in life would give her the name Celesta.
Her mother passed away due to a terrible illness when Celesta was only 4 years old, and this would rattle the family due to the fact her father was an accomplished alchemist. Having the resources and the education to heal but unable to save his own wife was something that caused a lot of grief, but for all the pain that was experienced, her father did his very best with her continued rearing, as her older brother helped with things when it got to be too much for the Seeker.

Formative Years

Her father held a unique contract within the Alchemist's Guild that allowed him to maintain and finance the exchange of growth formulas between the desert city-state and that of the Growery. Frequent trips to Ul'dah for the family gave Celesta the opportunity to engage frequently with the Weaver's Guild, and she developed the ability to sew and design her own clothing, making much of her own outfits for both botany work as well as casual and travel wear to and from the Royal Allagan Sunway of Eastern Thanalan to South Shroud and Bentbranch.
Paired with a well-developed education from the Hearer assigned to watch over the family's plot and advise them on the whispers of the elementals, she eventually came to the desire to be trained in a martial practice to help assist in the protection of travel caravans for the family. Already familiar with the aetherial requirements to manipulate creation from her Hearer mentor, it was due to an encounter with a red mage traveling the roads she gained an interest in red magic, seeing much of her previous learning in the art in addition to the ability to learn it in tandem with a weapon. The red mage's name was Celesta Estheim.

Education

Education in Conjury

Her first mentor was a Hearer from Nophica's Altar and a member of the Seedseer Council assigned to advise her family's plot in the Greatloam Growery. An accomplished conjurer sensitive to the whisperings of earth elementals, her first lessons were that of the benefits of earth aspected observations, the value, and the need for a solid foundation in all choices. This specific kind of teaching would manifest in many of her life decisions later in life, and attribute a little to her natural stubbornness. Lessons of the earth helped her realize that sometimes there's more value in standing for things rather than allowing others to convince her differently.

Employment

• Worked as a botanist for the Greatloam Growery alongside her father and brother on their assigned plot
• Took Weaver's Guild commissions as practice for her own ability in cloth craft
• Learned the martial techniques of red magic to defend her family's caravan and those that needed her abilities during the Seventh Umbral Calamity
• Joined the Scions of the Seventh Dawn after the Calamity to help rebuild and learn more about the circumstances that caused the terrible disaster
• Joined in the joint collaboration between the Scions and the Sons of Saint Coinach during the open investigation of the Crystal Tower
• Helped facilitate Scion communication between Mor Dhona and Camp Dragonhead

A Keeper of the Moon botanist born in Gridania, her interest in magic allowed her access to education and a comfortable lifestyle in the forested city-state. Headstrong, stubborn, and goal-oriented, she involves herself in protecting others who cannot.
