Naoki Yoshida and Koji-Fox announced this job at the Final Fantasy X|V Digital Fan Festival 2021, on May 14, 2021, during the Keynote Address. Out of all the jobs in the game, this is the first-ever exclusive option to FFXIV, unavailable in any other Final Fantasy title current from the release announcement of Endwalker. 1. This is conjectured from the normal use of soul crystals as regulators/stoppers for the more extreme aspects of a job's powers, such as Black Mage's use of ambient aether and Dark Knight's crystal allowing for communion with the Darkside. I'll change this bit as soon as we get more information if we learn more on how the Reaper uses the Void.
