Toss A Pinch

Agathyrsi Superstition

Agathyrsi have had the art of Tossing A Pinch of dust of one kind or other for as long as they have existed. As the oldest human culture in transylvania, that is a truly ancient art. Though notoriously stubborn and reluctant to give up any of their "old" ways, this is one tradition that has started to fall out of even their favor. New ways to make Tossing A Pinch far more useful were developed with things like quail eggs carefully packed with powder. So too was packing powder into an incense to be tossed into a flame invented. A fighting form to toss a pinch of dust at their enemies in mid-combat was developed. But all these improvements have still seen the ancient art dwindling out of favor as dragoon pistons with their deadly musketballs have become the great equalizer against most monsters.

Masters of Powder

Nowadays, only a handful or two of Agathyrsi still practice Tossing A Pinch. But they have become extraordinarily clever in their stubborn hold upon this ancient tradition. The have made a special blend, a Rainbow Dust, that has a bit of what is needed to repel every type of monster. With monsters able to hide their true natures, being able to see how a creature reacts to the Rainbow Powder will tell these well-trained Agathyrsi what of monster they face. This knowledge can then be used to Toss A Pinch of the proper powder for a more intense effect.
