Yamami's Speech
The large Half-Blue Dragon gazes at you, his cold, calculating eyes locking onto yours with an unsettling, cold-blooded intensity. With a wry smile, he begins to speak, his voice laced with a dangerous charm.
"Ah, you have come to this sacred shrine, drawn by your misguided sense of righteousness. You see this place as a bastion of light and virtue, a relic of peace to be saved, but you're blind to the truth. The world, my dear adventurers, is not so simple."
His voice resonates through the courtyard, the cherry blossoms above rustling in response.
"This shrine, this quaint little sanctuary, has a history soaked in the blood of ambition and power. I, a descendent of both the heavens and the earth, have come to reclaim what is rightfully mine, and I won't be swayed by your pitiful ideals."
He raises a clawed finger, and electricity crackles along it, casting eerie shadows on the ancient moss-covered stones.
"You see, this shrine holds the key to a force greater than your feeble minds can comprehend. It is a place of convergence, where the energies of the Millennial Avatars ebb and flow. To control such a place would give us an advantage over the Cult of the Starseed. We have already removed the Starseed Soul of this holy place and are on our way to the next.
You may have heard whispers of the Cult of the Starseed. This aberrant, alien secret society thrives and plots in the tumult of the nearby city of Edarhyne, yet like themyou're woefully ignorant of the potential that the incredible power this Starseed represents. The cult is the brainchild of Emelior, one of the Millennial Avatars. Like you he would have you believe he is a well-meaning hero, but more likely he is just another petty tyrant. We are the only ones who know the truth!
The pronouncement hangs in the air like thunder. You feel he has said something noteworthy and profound.
"The Millennial Avatars are angelic beings of unrivaled power and ambition, locked in the eternal throes of a battle for supremacy. There are five of them in this era, each vying to become the next Millennial and to wield the power that could shape the destiny of the world. My master is merely the one who will win"
A subtle, knowing smile creeps across his face, revealing a hint of concealed malevolence.
"The current state of the Havens is but a wan shadow of what's to come. Emelior and the so-called Cult of the Starseed like you, are mere pawns in our grand game. And like you, we wil throw them down. You see, progress, like a lightning bolt, is a double-edged sword, and as the champion of the darker aspects I serve, I shall help my master ascend to heights of power you can scarcely imagine."
His gaze narrows as almost sneers the following:
"Your world is on the brink of a new era, an era where darkness and chaos will run rampant. And my master shall be the harbinger of this transformation. The Millennial shall be mine. I am the future, and you, dear heroes, are but obstacles on the path to destiny."
With that, the Monk turns, looking from PC to PC deciding who to attack…
