Augury Worm

As far as we know Armaments have either existed as far back as we know, or they appeared one day without anyone realizing how or why. One piece of evidence people like to being up for the former is the tiny unassuming Augury Worm. This worm lives in the depths of caves feeding on moss and mushrooms. Despite the darkness they move unhindered and are able to find food with almost psychic levels of accuracy. Every nine months or so the larvae's shell hardens and after a week or so they crack out of the shell as a four winged gray moth with eyelike shapes on each wing. These moths join in a mating ritual and die shortly afterwards.   The curious part is that leftover shell that the moths leave behind. The shell has a strange property where it vibrates in the presence of an Armament in use. Why a worm in the depths of a cave would develop such an ability is baffling. How could the worm have encountered that many objects like that before or what on earth is the material that their shell is made of where it can do this in the first place. Even the moths themselves have been proven to have a dampening effect on any Armament effects.   As such it should be no surprise that the King and his Armament Hunters have a secret place in the capital where they breed the worms at a reckless pace. The squads are required to wear a chain with the shell encased inside it. Whenever they get close to anyone using an Armament it will go off and lead them straight to the user. They've even been know to save a life or two. That vibration can be almost a sense that something might attack you soon. The moths don't live long enough to help them in any way, but it's been rumored that their scientists have been working rapidly to find a solution to the problem as we speak. Do I hope they succeed? In some ways yes. It may be easier for the world at large once it's over, but maybe the best weapons should be kept in the back for when the time is right. If there really are horrors and sprits waiting just beyond the veil we might just need them yet.
