Morey Hallow

Morey Hallow; the leader of the final charge of their so called Freedom; the one who nearly took the King to task. What more can possibly be said? His origins are debated by scholars constantly. Back and forth they argue. Was he a common man who found a powerful Armament? Raised to the level of warlord simply from the strength he could wield and speech he could deliver. Not wanting to be thrust back down to the level of normality he fought the King's decree to throw down all of the Armaments to one place he fought him at every turn. Or was he a noble born into power and wealth? A political enemy of the king, or maybe a good friend from another family? Either way in that origin too he couldn't follow the King's order for all arms to be collected and gathered his own army through his connections, wealth, and prisons to create his final stand. And either way he lost and is dead somewhere so why should we care?     The common folk tell a different tale. There are other things in this world beyond the scope of mortal men. The Church calls them Demons, the men of science call them Outlanders, the people call them monsters. Spirits or otherworldy beings that take forms that the human mind can't comprehend. I've talked to many villages that The Last Stand of Freedom passed through on their way to The Price, and they all tell the same tale. They say that Morey and his closest lieutenants made a deal with several powerful entities and welcomed them into themselves. They say where he walked people followed as if drawn to something no matter what horrors were commited by his followers. They say he never ordered, or planned, just walked towards the destined battle he knew was there. Some even say he still lives somewhere as he proved impossible to kill.   I'd say it's all somewhere in between. Some nebulous center between monster and man. But I was never able to meet him, or even talk to anyone who met him on the battlefield so I frustratingly lack the insight of a first hand account.   But I'm guessing he was a bit of an ass. But maybe a smart one too.
