The Price of Freedom

After King Edward II and his army clashed with the final remnants of those wishing for the freedom to use the powerful Armaments as they please the resulting clash of powerful world changing weapons created an area of unstable land about 20 square miles across. Ironically proving the King's point that unfettered use of Armaments would cause havoc everywhere. He called the area the Price of Freedom in an insult to those who called the battle The Last Stand Of Freedom.   The region's terrain is wildly off kilter with towering mountains and deep valleys scattered in between them. Mountains seem to grow out of the other mountains in several places while trees grow up the sides of the valleys. Lakes decorate the sides of the mountains unconnected to any river and set at angles where they should run down the mountain into the valleys below but stay firmly situated in place.   The weather wildly fluctuates between unearthly calms, to a number of...dynamic weather patterns. Torrential downpours, freezing blizzards, tornados, hurricanes and even more. It has been reported that the sky has rained fire, lighting has torn through a few mountains, and acid rain has even caused a few pools of corrosive materials to sit at the bottom of a few of the valleys.   These drastic environments make exploration and even just travel through the area almost impossible....Oh but what treasures could be found, what weapons could we reap if only we could find what secrets that could have been left behind.   But oh well. The King has the only Armaments that could be used to safely get through there and he won't be letting any of those out of that vault of his anytime soon. After all then what would have been the point of this whole thing.
