The Saint's Staff

One of the Church's so called divine relics. This was the staff that their Saint used while crossing their lands on their famous journey. It's been told that The Saint strode from one end of this entire landmass to the other blessing those he came across. They have books upon books of quotes and deeds written about that time. Loads of actually pretty decent advice and proverbs that even I admit I could stand to do more of here and there. The Staff itself was said to have "soaked" up the miracles that were done and can repeat them. Healings, doubling of food or crop, banishing demons and other spirits, one man even proclaims that his house gained an extra bedroom for a child they were about to have. I don't think the staff has done that last one but I have heard reports of the others. Unfortunately, I have also heard tale of people being rejected and cursed by the staff with seemingly no tell of why or how.
The Church keeps the Staff in one of their major temples and carts it around the globe performing miracles for all who would have belief. The problem being that The Staff seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to actually doing the miracles. It blesses and curses at random and sometimes what seems like the opposite of what the priest, handler or believer asked for in the first place. The thing might be an Armament but it must be a broken one if it is, though that shouldn't even be possible. Armaments never have to be troubleshooted. Either that or it truly knows the hearts of the people who come to it better than they themselves know. I'm honestly not sure which answer is more troubling.
