Bato Bao
With their incredibly powerful arms and deceptively fast speed, the Bato Bao is an intelligent bipedal animal that is known for having an incredibly terrifying appearance. Although omnivorous with a preference for fruit, many villagers have made a myth that these creatures at night become predators that hunt children as their food. They are territorial but reserved by nature and with proper approach they could be reasonably made into allies if they accept you into their pride. They have an understanding of using basic tools as well as have a great sense of preservation which allows them to migrate quickly when danger lurks near their home.
Despite their terrifying appearance, the recording attacks on citizens have mainly been due to the creature being terrified of the circumstance or if these individuals have entered their territory without properly greeting them first. Regardless, most are more likely to fall down a flight of stairs than to be attacked by a pack of Bato Bao.
