Divinity
Divinity: a power unlike any other, for none can make themselves so pure and intense as it. Wielded by the gods, such divine might allows them to perform impossible feats, bestow their blessings upon those who worship them, and achieve the coveted immortality so many clamor for.
However, this power is not only in the reach of those we worship today. For the most exalted of paragons, it is possible for them to grasp that divine power and ascend to become something more.
Two types of divine beings exist: Those manifested by a collective belief, and those spiritual or mortal beings that have been empowered by their own enlightenment and legend.
For the deities who were created, they held no physical presence until their inception. Born from a collective belief, they were manifested into reality from myth and worship. These deities are born and live in a higher realm that goes by many names, though for most it is known as either Tian or Takamagahara. There, in that lofty, sacred world, they live and rule, occasionally descending to the mortal realm when required.
The other kind of divine, though, are those who ascend to godhood. Tales of ascension describe all manner of methods, from being chosen by other divine beings, achieving enlightenment, achieving such legendary status that they become the subject of worship, to stealing the divine power from a deity through combat or trickery. For those that ascend, though they might call another realm their home, they can freely travel to and from Tian just as those who were born there.
