Overview
The empire and all governing forces are broken down into different categories of ranking degree and level of authority. Those who pass the Imperial Examination are given the most basic recognition and are capable of working in government positions and rise up the ranks in the imperial caste.
Degree and Level of Authority
Emperor (皇帝)
- The one who rules over everything within the Empire and has the final say in matters of the state.
First Degree (一品)
- Imperial Regent, Emperor’s Confidant
Second Degree (二品)
- Ministers of: Commerce and Finance, Justice, City State, Health, Agriculture, Fisheries and Ocean, War Office, Citizenship and Immigration, Civil Duty, etc.
- Grand General of the Combined Army, Grand Admiral of the Combined Fleet
Third Degree (三品)
- Magistrates of a Prefecture or major city, Provincial Governors, General, Admiral
Fourth Degree (四品)
- Ambassadors of the Provinces, Magistrate of a County, Martial Arts Master grade bodyguards to Imperial officers
Fifth Degree (五品)
- Court Advisors to a Magistrate of a Prefecture, Chief Provincial Inspector,
Sixth Degree (六品)
- Chief Magistrate of a City
Seventh Degree (七品)
- Junior Magistrate of a City Sector, Chief Guard of the City Walls
Eighth Degree (八品)
- Magistrates in charge of small regions or collection of villages.
Ninth Degree (九品)
- Magistrates in training, Judges Magistrate of a small town community
- Government Agents with limited authority
- Fresh graduates of the Imperial Examination and are eligible to acquire a starting position in the government office
Side Note:
- Due to Ninth Degree being the lowest on the caste with little authority, they are commonly referred to a derogatory term by the higher ups as 九品芝麻官 (Gao-Bun-Zi-ma-Guen), which is roughly translates as ‘A Judge of Sesame Seeds’.
