Often recognized as Saints, Immortals, Divine Individuals, etc. Beings born with or cultivated strong positive energy, to the point of being untained by mortal sin or evil. Such beings are considered on par with Angels, or borderline to Godhood, and possess mystical powers and longevity.
Sheng Xian comes in many forms. Animals, born and raised in a pure environment or came across a clean source of magical energy to gain sentience and power. Humans, through strong code, positive morality, cultivation, perfecting a pure form of martial arts, or even ingesting a magical pill can acquire sainthood and live for ages. Inanimate objects can also attain sentience and sainthood from collecting spiritual energy from their owners, natural elements from a pure environment, or an advanced magical ritual.
What Saints and Immortals do in their long lifespan vary from one person, animal, or being to another. Some would help the people around them either in secret or to acquire popularity as a means to gain students and followers. There are those who disconnect themselves from the world and live in caves, mountains, or secluded places to cultivate their life force further as a means of self-actualization. Although they can be mistaken for malicious Yaoguai, there are people who revere Sheng Xian as saviors and protecters due to their divine appearance and good deeds and carry on their name and legacy through folklore and mythology.
Sheng Xian can be promoted to Gods with time and the right training. Options include: serving an official God as an assistant, conducting good deeds and acting as guidance to others, daily prayer or cultivation, and so on. Some Sheng Xian often keep their identities a secret and hide their holy magic, so they could live in peace with their fellow villagers and explore the world in the eyes of a human without being cornered like some sort of celebrity.
