Brass Dragon
'Shepards of the Desert' my grandparents called them. When they were children it wasn't uncommon to see them soaring through the sky watching over the well-being of all who lived below.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Brass dragons can be found throughout the deserts of the world, prerfering the warm and arid conditions found there.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Brass dragon metabolism is incredibly efficient. They have been known to go months consuming only water. When water alone is no longer enough, they will take to the skies and survey their territory looking for anything that seems out out balance. If everything appears to be stable from their perspective, they usually resort to consuming a little bit of everything – both plants and animals. In these circumstances, the dragons won't hunt the sentient species of the desert, valuing conversations with them too much.
In the event the desert's ecology has fallen out of balance since their last hunt, they will predate on what they perceive to be the cause of the problem. When humans are the problem, which has increasingly become the case, they will first converse with them hoping to convince them to end their harmful activities. While this is usually effective – few wanting to take on a dragon – sometime, violence becomes neccessary and these protectors of the sand will attack settlements wiping them out and feaasting on the dead.
