Uk'lo

Uk'lo is an honorific given to an Uk'orin orc recognized as the victor in the most recent Uk'rotal for their tribe. Literally translated as "the strongest", Uk'lo is a title that commands great respect from the entire tribe an even other Uk'orin tribes in the Northern Wall mountains. Alongside the Vas'lo, the Uk'lo is seen as an official leader of the tribe. While the Vas'lo is the authority on spiritual matters and traditions, the Uk'lo is charged with the physical needs of the tribe.

History

Around 700 BKO, a war emerged between the Uk'orin tribes of what is now known as the Northern Wall mountains. One of the few survivors of the battle, Bekor Tuuk, traveled throughout the mountains and proclaimed his superior strength to all other orcs. Those who challenged him were slain. One by one, each tribe recognized his greatness and declared him Uk'lo Uk'orin, The Strongest of the Uk'orin.   After King Tosalis I of Ocila defeated the great unified tribe in 38 OA, the Uk'orin people broke apart into dozens of smaller tribes and each declared their own Uk'lo.

Notable Holders

Of the dozen remaining Uk'orin tribes, Uk'lo Kaznodan Drusca and Uk'lo Urlak Vultog are two most notable holders of the title. Drusca Durugul became Uk'lo as younger than anyone else is over two hundred years. Also remarkable is that she hasn't been challenged in the 17 years she has held the position. Vultog Burlek earned notoriety when he led the Urlak tribe in the siege and sacking of Elwin's Keep and the subsequesnt deaths of the last of the Ocilian Royal Family. He is also the only Uk'orin in living memory to be vicorious in four consecutive Uk'rotal brawls.
