Ardragon Halia Thornton (a.k.a. Alluring Fiend)
Halia is a 38 year old human woman. Halia was one of the first inhabitants of Phandalin that met the Scuffling Partizans. They had been told by other villagers that Halia never got harassed by the Redbrands, and were wondering what the reason would be. As they found out, this was because she is a member of the Zhentarim, and you don't mess around with that organisation. Not even if you are a feared and fearless ruffian.
Halia runs the Phandalin Miner's Exchange, a front company for her more important and secret work for the Zhentarim, and her own increase in power, wealth and influence. However, much of her work has taken place from this business already, since it has served as an unofficial records office, in the absence of any real local lord or authority. As such Halia has seen a lot of prospectors and miners pass through her place, working to register their claims to streams and excavations. Her place of business is therefor a good place to meet people who spend a lot of time out and about in the countryside.
Halia has been the first citizen of Phandalin to give the Partizans a real mission in town, ordering them to kill Iarno Albrek and bring her any information they might find in his office. Glasstaff managed to flee, but his communications with the Black Spider have ended up with her, for which she is thankful to the group. She then proceeded to try to make contact with the Black Spider herself. Something she asked a member of the Partizans to arrange for her.
After the Partizans had chased off Glasstaff, Halia proceeded to empty Tresendar Manor of all that remained of the Redbrands in there, and has taken some remaining Redbrands into her service. Explaining to the Partizans that everyone deserves a second chance. Later she has helped the players attack Cragmaw Castle where she basically did the same in cleaning up the remnants that the group left behind. These actions have given her more stature in Phandalin, and given her control over some fancy real-estate.
Halia had by now gotten to be a real force to be reckoned with in the area. So the next thing she set her mind to was to become the new mayor of Phandalin. She organized the citizens of Phandalin in taking mayor Harbin Wester from office, and then started work on getting an election for the new mayor organized and favoring her candidacy. The Redbrands now in her service were a great help, as she stated that as citizens of Phandalin, they too had a vote in the matter.
Next on Halia's agenda were plans to restore Tresendar Manor to its former glory and take up residence there. When the players return to Phandalin in the future, they will find the town changed quite a lot.
