The Conveyance Building
Purpose / Function
The Conveyance Building was built as a headquarters for the Crow Conveyance system. Using birds for message transportation meant that the birds themselves needed somewhere to live, and so the Conveyance Building was constructed. Originally only meant as an aviary of sorts, it became a combination of aviary, veterinary, and post office. Around 60 crows live at the Conveyance Building, from which they are dispatched to send messages or to other Conveyance hubs across Kiria. Six horses are also kept at the Conveyance Building, who are driven in pairs to deliver messages in the local area or transport crows who are injured or require rest.
The Conveyance Building is also used as a hub for messages to arrive and then be sent off to the correct location. Gillamoor is central enough to Kiria that it is a good place for a message to switch crows or be sent by horseback instead.
