Easthaven

A thieving-town, initially ruled by Speaker Danneth with harsh punishments to evildoers and malpractitioners of magic. They were given the Cauldron of Plenty by The Naughty Boys, a massive boon to the town's survival.   A booming seaport town, larger in population that most of the Ten Towns (around 700), with constant organized traffic inwards and outwards. "Watch thine pockets" Signs, Pickpocketing is legal after the thieving founders. And yet, the overall mood is quite happy! The crowded roads provide warmth.   The inhabitants of Easthaven: Tieflings, White Dragonborn, Dwarves, and many Humans. Anglers, pirates, thieves, commonfolk and trappers. There is life in this town unlike any other. They have a standing militia. They're largely isolated from the other Ten Towns.   On arrival, the Naughty Boys encounter a Red Wizard burned at the stake, as people enjoy the festivity as his body burned to charred bone. The Militia Leader implies there's a "Lottery" where people are picked as sacrifice to Auril, unless a murderer, like that Red Wizard, conveniently appears. Two pickpockets take Boulderdash's gold purse and Babcock's rapier. Gurney gets the gold back.

Locations

  • Town Center
  • The White Lady Inn: Signage of a gaunt lady with cuts on arms and throat. Well-kept, (Buried Treasures Inn in Bremen is still the most pristine), been around since the town has existed. Well populated with customers. A jaded old man, and slam-poet Halfling. The old man was disinterested in Sybil's offer of the Honeymead barrels.
  • The Wet Trout Inn: A well-managed but empty place with 3 drunk Gnomes and the Ferryman.
  • The Bay Area: Largely frozen over, constricting the in-and-out frequency of ships
  • The Speaker's House: Guarded.

Notable Residents

  • Militia Leader: Imdra Argolath
Tall Human in armor. She knows us from the good deeds of Good Mead, and Dougan's Hole. Serendipitous that she's able to meet us. They've recently lost some anglers on the lake and want our help. (Meet her in The White Lady Inn Day 14)
  • Ronaldo, a Halfling looking for The White Lady's hidden treasure.
Scythen, the red Tiefling Ferryman along Lac Dinneshere to Easthaven.

Mysteries

  • There have been recent kidnappings in the town.
  • The ferry from Easthaven to Caer Dineval has been frozen over, and is dangerous anyways. Carmien was told to meet his contact in Easthaven , who may be upset with him and Keth for their unsuccessful political run in Good Mead.
