Session 2 Report
General Summary
Brain (Grell) is the size of 3-4 human brains smashed together. No eyes, curved beak, tentacles
with barbed tips. Hovering making slight clicking noise when Rys attempts contact. Shar fires an
arrow at it without provocation. It attacks. We work together to kill it. We are pretty awesome.
Rys collects Grell slime (possible paralysis agent in it?). Shar cuts it open and then collects
barbed section of tentacle. Ifrea collects a bit of the beak as a medallion. Rys can’t determine
source of poison. We hear noises but unthreatening and from a ways away. Ifrea resets the trap
outside our Grell room and we take a short rest. Meet Greck and Smol (cobalts, obviously).
Shitari told them we killed the “float-squish” and showed proof and they agree to take us to
Trex. Trex said they used to live in foothills area but a Yeti took over. Trex now wants to make a
deal for shelter and we worked out that his Cobalts could mine in exchange for staying there.
We will bring townspeople back to negotiate terms at 10am tomorrow. (or 11 with food) (Trex
collects fungi and if we can find some in town it will make him very happy) Wants us to bring
back bread, cheese, and SLICED meat. And maybe wine? Trex advises there is something
special on the other side of the bucket lift/passage. We carefully cross the chasm. Ifrea sees
fossilized skull with large eye sockets no nose four holes where you would expect teeth.
Vaguely humanoid. Finds large crystal shard inside when he shatters the skull. (Ifrea collects Psi
crystal - glows purple and grants telepathy while attuned to it 60ft range shines bright light in
10ft radius and dim light another 10)
We make our way back to town as the sunsets and return to the docks and head to the Eastside
Inn. Asking to meet with the council. Marta says it’s difficult to gather them. Advises dealing
directly with the speaker is smartest as he is the final law regardless of disagreements with
town’s militia. Need to find potions. Caravan called Torgs travels between towns and would
provide things like potions. May be around within a week. 15 minutes later the speaker enters.
We will meet first thing tomorrow with the speaker and representatives to go back to the mine
for negotiations. Oarus leads us outside. Over the lake an aurora flies over with something
leading it. Points: That is Auril the frostmaiden who keeps us in this frozen wasteland. (taking
long rest)
