Desert Rose

Verse 1
In the heart of Thalor, where the spires rise,   Three sandstone towers pierce the skies.   Among those streets, where shadows play,   I found a love I could not stay.   Her smile was bright, her soul untamed,   But my heart whispered, "Leave her unclaimed."   For though she bloomed beneath the sun,   I knew, in time, I’d be the one   To steal her light, to weigh her down,   A rose that would wilt if I stayed around.
Chorus
O desert rose, I leave you now,   To the winds, to the stars, I make this vow.   For though I love, I set you free,   To grow where I could never be.   O desert rose, in Thalor's light,   May you bloom without my shadow in sight.
Verse 2
She danced through the market, laughter light,   A vision of freedom in the falling night.   But I am the storm that breaks the sky,   And her spirit, like the wind, must fly.   I watched her spin through the endless sands,   But knew my grip would chain her hands.   So I let her go, with heart held tight,   To wander alone through the endless night.
Chorus
O desert rose, I leave you now,   To the winds, to the stars, I make this vow.   For though I love, I set you free,   To grow where I could never be.   O desert rose, in Thalor's light,   May you bloom without my shadow in sight.
Bridge
For love that binds, it burns too bright,   It holds you close, but steals your light.   I could not stay, though my heart did yearn,   For I am a lesson you should never learn.   The desert calls you, winds of change,   And I must wander, far and strange.
Verse 3
Now the seas are wide, the stars are cold,   And I’m left with stories never told.   In every wave, in every sigh,   I see her face, but say goodbye.   She will bloom, where I could not roam,   A desert rose, forever home.
Chorus
O desert rose, I leave you now,   To the winds, to the stars, I make this vow.   For though I love, I set you free,   To grow where I could never be.   O desert rose, in Thalor's light,   May you bloom without my shadow in sight.   Outro O desert rose, in sands so wide,   I leave my love, but not my pride.   For in your freedom, you will grow,   A desert rose—forever so.
