Pomander of Warding

This ball of aromatic spices and perfumes fills an area with a 15 foot radius with a strong scent for 24 hours after being unwrapped. Undead creatures of CR 2 or lower that enter this area must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be turned, as detailed in the Turn Undead cleric feature.

Manufacturing process

Step 1: Gather the required ingredients: Hagfingers and ginger root.   Step 2: Thoroughly clean and wash the Hagfingers and ginger root to remove any dirt or impurities.   Step 3: Using a sharp knife, finely chop the Hagfingers into small pieces.   Step 4: Peel the ginger root and cut it into thin slices.   Step 5: In a heat-resistant container or cauldron, combine the chopped Hagfingers and sliced ginger root.   Step 6: Add enough water to cover the ingredients in the container.   Step 7: Gently heat the mixture over a low flame, allowing it to simmer for approximately 30 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure the ingredients are well combined.   Step 8: After simmering, remove the container from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly.   Step 9: Using a mortar and pestle, crush the simmered mixture into a coarse paste-like consistency.   Step 10: Form the paste into small balls, approximately 2 inches in diameter, to create the Pomanders of Warding.   Step 11: Allow the Pomanders of Warding to dry completely in a cool, dry place for 24 hours.   Step 12: Once dry, wrap each Pomander of Warding in a cloth or parchment paper to preserve its potency.   Step 13: To activate the Pomander of Warding, unwrap it and place it in a central location within the desired area. The Pomander will fill a 15-foot radius with a strong scent for 24 hours after being unwrapped.
