Camoimperette Disorder

Transmission & Vectors

Severe damage to the central nervous system of a Cuttleborn. Various infections are also able to cause damage to nerves within specific regions of the body causing the symtoms to appear in localized areas. Increased hallucinogenic drugs are capable of inducing this for a short period of time, however prolonged use of these drugs can make it permanent.

Causes

The visual receptors in the skin of a Cuttleborn take over as the controller of the texture and color of the skin while also scrambling the visual signals.

Symptoms

The skin of a Cuttleborn becomes randomized, and is not able to be controlled by the Cuttleborn themselves. This makes communication using their visual language difficult or sometimes impossible.

Treatment

High level magical healing is capable of curing this disorder. With mundane means it requires extensive therapy, often from another Cuttleborn attempting to acclimate the visual receptors using their own skin and allowing the nervous system to begin by replicating very simple patterns and textures.

Prognosis

Most that are afflicted with this disorder tend to have it for the rest of their lives. It is incredibly difficult to fix through mundane means, and even more so if the disorder is over the entire surface of their skin.
