Copy Quill

Each Copy Quill in existence has a parent quill which it will copy its writing from anywhere on the same plane of existence as the parent quill. The Copy quill must be supplied with both ink and paper. It is unable to copy spells or used to create multiple spell scrolls. If the parent quill is destroyed, all associated copy quill's are immediately destroyed as well.

Manufacturing process

In order to create a Copy Quill you must have at least two feathers of a white raven and craft each into a quill. The first feather will be the primary quill which the other quill will copy. For 30 days you must cast the spell mage hand and have the spell hold the Copy Quill while you hold the primary quill. Using both quills you must write at least one page of words with both quills using the blood of a doppelganger. After the 30 days have been completed you will no longer need to use doppelganger blood on the quill's, they will take any ink you supply them.

Significance

The Copy Quill revolutionized communication and availability of texts. Using a series of copy quills (for many copy quills can share a parent quill) a single writer could copy a manuscript a dozen times over. Two individuals, each with a set of copy quills and parent quills could set up identical desks in distant locations. With these desks they could write messages to one another. This type of communication has led to a specialized desk design that the Conclave of Itherion utilizes to send communications between their bases.
