Ellethrhaw

The whimsical plane of chaos and fairies, Ellethrhaw is not the kind hearted place it leads you to believe it is. While overly colorful and full of happiness, the plane is an incredibly dangerous place for anyone living outside of it to enter. The fey that dwell in Ellethrhaw are quite opposite of their chaotic realm, they follow strict rules and impose them on all who enter the ever wild landscape. Those who enter must watch their words for they can land them into trouble. To take something as a gift is to welcome ill tidings and be indebted to the giver.   It is this realm that the four fairy courts, the Spring Court of Fairies, Summer Court of Fairies, Fall Court of Fairies, and Winter Court of Fairies rule. Each gains and loses power with the passing of the seasons, along with its many residents. Most fairies serve a single court, but it not a general rule as word rules over nature. A fairy can be taken into another court with a simple conversation. The four courts rule from different lands within Ellethrhaw, each that are inaccessible directly from interplanar travel. The Spring Court rules from the Palace of Flowers, the Summer Court from the Palace of Fire, the Fall Court from the Palace of Trees, and the Winter Court from the Palace of Ice.   Traversing Ellethrhaw is no easy task. There is no North or South and going straight can lead you back where you started. Even traveling back the way you came does not guarentee the same destination or travel time. Going without a guide to Ellethrhaw is a dangerous endeavor that can lead you lost, some never return. As with distance and direction, time also flows differently. Two different individuals in different parts of Ellethrhaw will experience a different amount of time pass. There is always one guarentee, the changing of the Seasons. When the seasons transition it is always on the same day on the Material Plane, even if the person has experienced only moments pass or several decades.

Geography

Ellethrhaw's landscape ranges from rolling hills, fields of flowers, and dense forests. There are natural springs of water, some that seem impossible such as a lake that feeds a river that then flows back into the same lake. The landscapes defy the natural laws of the Material Plane allowing for some amazing lanscapes. There are no known oceans in Ellethrhaw.

Fauna & Flora

There are a seemingly endless array of wild animals and flora that exist in Ellethrhaw, many that feed off of the wild nature of the magic. Many fauna and flora in Ellethrhaw appear to be incredibly similar to creatures and plants found on the Material Plane but have some distinct differences. This is a result of Ellethrhaw's magical quintessence which is different than that found on the Material Plane. This quintessence, like that found in the Shadowveil, seeps into the creatures and plants of Ellethrhaw and changes them. Those that find themselves wandering the plane for too long may soon find themselves changed irreversibly.

Natural Resources

There are not any known consistent resources found within Ellethrhaw, however much of the plants and seemingly normal resources (like water and dirt) can be used as ingredients for very magical, if not chaotic, items and potions.   The Fairy Courts instead see the inhabitants of Ellethrhaw as resources, with many Fey at their service.
