Giants are bipedal humanoids. They resemble humans but are significantly larger in scale and stature.

Social Structure

The structure of Giant society since the fall of their empire became a caste system based on the subspecies of giant. The order from highest to lowest is as follows:

• Storm Giant
• Cloud Giant
• Fire Giant
• Frost Giant
• Stone Giant
• Hill Giant

Outside of this structure are the magic users. The ability to wield magic is incredibly rare among Giants. Those who utilize magic are put in a system above the Storm Giants but with the same structure, just among magic users.

Major Organizations

The Giants have worked to keep their empire intact. Now only a shadow of its former self, the Giants now live in the northern region of Malfral. The region is harsh but the Giants technological prowess make living there viable.

Average Technological Level

The Giants have attained a level of technology that permits the use of airships and steam power. Their lack of magic is made up for their technological advances. They guard the secrets behind their technology to their graves.

History

Long ago, when the gods were young, the Giants ruled the Material Plane. For a time there was peace between the Giants and the smaller mortals. Then a great conflict broke out in the Material Plane. Where the war started and who the enemy was is largely unknown save for a few Giant sages and the Gods themselves. It left the Giants crippled, their technology was little use against the foe they faced. In the end, magic had won the day. Having seen the power of magic and the unfair ruling of the Giants, the other races banded together to dismantle the Giant Empire. The already weakened Giants were no match, and in time their Empire was reduced to Mafral, a desolate wasteland. The Giants are long lived, and remember the actions of the smaller folk of the past. What they have planned is a mystery.
