Psychofagos

They all stood in a perfect circle of human bones, cloaked in crimson robes. The basement of the noble's estate was dimly lit, only by the candles which littered it. The bones had been carved with intricate symbols, they had been bleached and place with extreme care.   Blood had been spilt from a goat and gathered into a bowl, the stench filling the underground room. Twelve of the members were chanting an incantation in unison. The thirteenth had been performing the ritualistic sacrifice and now brought the bowl of blood to the center of the circle. Pulled from the bowl the heart of the goat and raised it above the bowl. As the incantation came to a mighty crescendo the thirteenth dug his teeth into the heart.   A spark of dark energy shot from the ceiling and engulfed the thirteenth who was now writhing in agony. The twelve others remained still watching the results of their ritual unfold. The thirteenth knocked over the bowl of blood which pooled on the floor beneath him. The others stepped back but the dark energy ceased.   A massive dark blue hand reached up out of the pool of blood and grabbed the thirteenth who began to scream. The upper torso of the beast rose revealing its muscular form. Its hair was wet with blood, but black in color and covering a majority of its face. Its teeth were sharpened to a point, revealed by its massive grin.   It pulled the struggling thirteenth towards its opening mouth and bit his torso off. Blood sprayed everywhere with shock coming to many of the remaining twelve. The monster pulled itself the rest of the way out, standing tall enough that it needed to croutch not to hit its head on the ceiling. It seated itself on the ball of its feet, knees bent and looking down at the remaining cultists.   "Oh great messenger of Olgog!" one began to shout, "We humbly ask for your assistance!"   The black eyes turned to view the speaker, its pupils a single point of white in the inky blackness of its eyeballs. The room fell silent. The beast just stared at the speaker, awaiting its next words.   "We remaining twelve seek to cheat death!"   If the beast hadn't proved it, none would have believed that its grin could get deeper. The dark eyes even seemed to gleam. The clawed right arm of the beast began to slowly outstretch, but then it seemed to collide with a wall of invisible energy and it seemed to burn. It pulled the hand back and let out a shriek of pain. Its look went from amusement to anger. After a moment however the look returned to that of joy.   "Release me from this circle, and I will show you to secret to cheating death," its deep, gutteral voice echoed throughout the basement.   The speaker hesitated, another spoke up.   "I am not sure that is such a good id-"   "Silence! If that is what needs to be done so be it!" the speaker returned. He moved to knock the bones out of alignment, but the other leaped upon him to keep him from breaking the circle.   A struggle commenced. Just as it seemed that the speaker had been pinned, a kick collided with the chest of a member who was between the speaker and the beast. The cultist began to fall backwards, and in his fall he struck the bones. Without a moments pause he was suddenly in the grasp of the beast.   Hoisted up, the beast tore the man in half his screams persisting for only a few moments. Everyone had turned in horror to see a blue mist begin to wisp out of the man's twitching body. The mist was consumed by the hideous blue skinned beast.   None managed to survive the night as the beast slaughtered them one by one, blocking off their only retreat, mangling their bodies so they could be savored for after the carnage. By the nights end a large muscular man with long black hair was walking out of the basement, not a scratch on him.   And a toothy grin across his face.

Olgog's Failure

When Olgog was first reborn as a Demon, he set about trying to undo everything Azamin had done and spit in the fact of Thanatos. He wanted to collect souls for his own use, so he set about to replicate Thanatos' Reapers. Something went wrong and he failed at creating creatures he could control. They were born as soul hungry beasts. While Olgog cannot control them, he uses them as tools none-the-less. Cultists who follow him will often summon one and attempt to extract the souls from it in service to Olgog.
