Adjudicator
Contracts are a complicated and fickle matter. Therefore sometimes an adjudicator is brought in as a neutral third party. They keep the original copy of the contracts they manage and resolve conflicts between the parties involved in a contract, by providing an impartial interpretation of said contract.
Adjudicators can be and are employed by all manner of people, since their involvement provides an additional measure of security and legitimacy to contracts. Not only mortals hire adjudicators though. It is said that, in some cases, fiends, fey and (on rare occasions) even celestials use the services of adjudicators.

Career
Qualifications
Whilst not much is required to become an adjudicator, most successful ones are not only able to speak, read and write many different languages, but also well versed in the varied legal systems of the world.
Career Progression
There is, nominally, no career progression for adjudicators. Good work and veterancy in the profession provide reputation and renown, which in turn, bring more (and more profitable) contracts.
Payment & Reimbursement
The reward for an adjudicator's work is set by the adjudicator themself, in accord with their clients. Some might do their work for very little (sometimes even for free), others ask for major reimbursement. Very often it is also dependent on the contract being managed.
Other Benefits
Adjudicators, who have a good record are well liked and gain according reputations and renown.
Perception
Purpose
Adjudicators serve as a measure of protection against legal "shenannigans" and foul play.
Social Status
The reputation and renown of an adjudicator make their social status. Those with a good reputation and high renown are very well respected, whilst those with little renown or dubious reputation are generally ignored, or even avoided.
Demographics
Elves, Half Elves and Humans make up a majority of adjudicators, due to the general "learnedness" (read: the rate of literacy and education) of these people.
History
Historically this profession has been quite stable, though maybe less prominent and more... esoteric(?). In the past adjudicators were less in demand and, supposedly, their main purpose was what today is just alleged in rumors, the managing of contracts between mortals and otherworldly beings.
Operations
Provided Services
Adjudicators offer to draft contracts, make judgements on the wordings and contents of contracts and store the original copies of contracts (ensuring that there is no meddling with the legal texts).
Type
Legal
Demand
middling (mostly stable)
Legality
The common and well known parts of the profession are very much legal and appreciated by even the governments of the world. The lesser known parts and potential corruption, which the profession comes with are of course illegal.
