Master Merchant Envoy Toni

What can we say about Master Merchant Envoy Toni... He was the greatest.   He also disappeared.   Master Merchant Toni, let's call him Toni from here on, started off in one of the local forests on the main island of Ryu. He was your average everyday goblin just making a living working the forests and collecting mushrooms and other native plants. As he grew and gained experience, he became as a reliable and fair trader in the local village and provided a constant supply of high quality reagents for the local Alchemists Guild as well as a staunch supporter of farm-fresh-to-table ingredients for several cafes and restaurants in the local traveling area (Toni would not actually have a farm, he considered the natural forest his farm).   In the early years, Toni's normal routine was to wake early with his boar Bhutah and scout the local forests for items that were just at the right point for harvest. He was a discriminating sort and would only harvest plants that are at their peak of flavor and perfection. It later became known that he was also givnen the title of Forest Steward by the local Council of Fairies and Council of Hummingbirds as he was quick to provide protection to the surrounding areas. He had a knack for communicating with the more unique forest creatures and over time had established an intricate network within the forest that he and Bhutah could always count on.   The forest creatures also knew they could always count of Toni. It's not completely known if he was responsible for the sabotage of the proposed forest clearing project of Toshi970 or if he just happened to be around when the workers discovered all their supplies were contaminated and equipment rusted beyond use, but he was there.   He and Bhutah also defended one of the beaches during the late night barbarian sailing raid that would later become known as Barbarian Raid East No46. Toni and Bhutah single handedly defended the beach and held the barbarians on the shore while the local hummingbird scouts flew seeking both human and fairy support. Over 30 barbarians had been slain by the time the human and fairy support arrived and took over the defense. He was gravely wounded during the battle but was able to recover by being slowly restored after spending time with human clerics and fairy healers, although the nightmares and memories never truly went away.   After the conflict and his recovery, Toni and Bhutah were rewarded a merchant house by the kingdom located near the trade docks and given a ship to expand his trade. With a shop now located near the port, Toni reluctantly reduced the amount of time he spent in the forests to grow a successful import export mercantile trade between the Ryu islands and surrounding countries. Toni was a natural talent in working with some of the foreign traders and the kingdom rewarded him by assigning him the title of Master Merchant Envoy.   Toni was always true to his roots and would personally train each new employee himself in addition to the administrative tasks he was required to perform. He was known for taking the time to train his staff based on their individual skills as well as seeing to their family needs. Toni always looked after his staff and their families ensuring his business had the most competent people, thereby ensuring a level of loyalty unprecedented within a business.   Twelve days after departure in Toshi1010, Toni and Bhutah boarded the final vessel that they would be seen on for a routine trade mission. The vessel was discovered drifting into the harbor in the early morning of NiGatsu 12, Toshi1010. There were no individuals on board and no signs of malicious activity. All of the cargo was still in intact and seemed that only two meals had been consumed.
