Harmonia Lumberjacks

They are surprisingly few in number. Hundreds of years ago it was found out that the trees in the Tranquil forest known as the Harmonia Trees were resistant to magic after a skirmish in the forest left the trees still standing. When the people attempted to cut the trees down, they were unable. A woman named Clovia from Forli  prayed to Teliki Goddess of the Forest to allow them to use the trees to help protect them from evils of the world. The Goddess responded that only those personally chosen by her would be able to use the trees so she was sure they would use them for good. And so a pact was made with the Goddess. The Lumberjacks must go through a series of physical, mental, and alignment challenges in order to be a Harmonia Lumberjack or Those Who Can Chop the Harmonia Trees. They go into the forest and may not come back for months, years or even not at all. Those who were sent do not share their experience with anyone. Most return to take on the task of being a lumberer. They even come back with a druidic power they did not have before, which enables them to chop the trees down. Those that went through the trial seemed to come back better men and women and more and more people wanted to have their Goddess’ blessing. Word spread of this trial and some from nearby or far away towns came to attempt the trial. Not that it is known, but those who only saw greed or malice with the Harmonia Trees and were unable to change this view were not seen from again.
