Vander Tyrik
The adopted half orc son of Gram Tyrik and Tamera Tyrick. Gram found Vander when he was a child. His "kin" raided a nearby village and was defeated by the Ivalice army. He was all that was left. Gram took him home to Rabanastre. Tamara was unsure at first, she already had a toddler to care for, Vander's sister Yondari Tyrik. But she came to love him just the same. It was rough in the beginning for Vander and the Tyriks. Vander's wild nature made it difficult, but Gram knew he just needed time. He struggled with his private education where Yondari soared. Yondari always had a soft spot forĀ her younger brother and tried to help him become a gentleman as best as she could. Vander however excelled at combat training. Being a prominent family in Rabanastre he had some of the best combat tutors and veterans to train with, similar to the Vox family. He became an expert with a warhammer and learned many different maneuvers. At times, flighting frightened him. Whenever he fought he could feel his wild orc nature inside want to be released to chaos and fog his mind. But he could not let that happen. Not for everything his family has done for him.
His father was everything to him and he always wanted to make him proud. He taught him that just because he comes from a noble family that he is not above anyone. Gram always told him that he was his son, blood or no blood and he would always be there for him. When he died it crushed Vander. The bond between the Tyrik family grew closer and he realized that nothing is more important than them. But he also knew then that he must prove himself. Half orc or not, he wanted to be seen as a hero in Rabanastre, like his father. Vander is well liked, though quiet around those he doesn't know well. Following in his fathers footsteps he began learning how to work on airships and became a skilled Bosun. He thought his family would be proud, though what he really wanted to do was fight.
