Ep. 6 - Blood in the Water Report

General Summary

23rd of Elouhine 1298 PS - 25th of Elouhine 1298 PS
The Long Night

• Greylyn had a disturbing dream of all the people she has killed in her life as well as seeing in image of the Raven Queen among them. When her mask was removed, she saw Alfredo's face.
• After waking, Greylyn and Cina took watch and noticed something in the trees near them. Greylyn went to investigate and was stabbed in the back, nearly losing her life, by an assassin.
• Alfredo and Yia woke from their pajama covered and rock-like states, respectively, and joined their party members in fighting the assassin. Narrowly pinning her down, the party was successful in trapping and subduing their foe.
• The party then interrogated the thoroughly bound assassin, and quickly discovered that she was a Shadar-Kai from the Shadowfell who worships the Raven Queen. They also discovered that the assassin:
• Was a highly zealous and fanatical worshiper of the Raven Queen.- Came here to kill Greylyn and promised that more would come no matter where she went. She did not know or care why.- Had a powerful magical blockage in her memories from before a little over a century ago.- Had tattoos that resembled that of the assassin they met on the road to Arbourg several months ago.
  • Cina then killed the assassin after the interrogation.

The Dangerous Walk

• The party was caught in an acid rain storm that could have proved harmful or even fatal to them. Yia found shelter for the night.
• While in their shelter, they saw a massive black dragon fly overhead and heading south.

The Bloody Brawl

• The party came upon a clearing with a group of mutated vampires that had just finished slaughtering the majority of a civilian caravan. Four surviving humans and one donkey remained.
• Yia discovered that the vampires belonged to Mahrynth, from their easily recognizable runes carved into their bodies.
• Greylyn reached out to Myalo to ask what they should do. Myalo instructed her to kill them as a gift to him.
• The party, using strong tactics, magic, and cooperation, fought and killed all of the vampires, including a spellcaster that tried to flee. Yia did this from a different zip code than the rest of the party.
• Alfredo and Yia saved the civilians that were harmed and one who was killed. The mule went entirely unharmed.
• The entire party gave magical boons, items, and advice to the caravan of how to get to Gravehill, their original destination. They felt confident in the success of this caravan arriving safely.

After their confrontation with Mahrynth's kin, the party briefly rested before continuing onwards and quickly finding their path blocked by three dark and deadly figures and one bound human. Only one more day before reaching Boneveil, but the dangers have certainly not passed.
