Limbo

Before the creation of planes outside of the Material, there was a never ending chaos throughout the universe. Ilia, when they began the creation of the planes and life within them, tamed this chaos. They did, however, discover quite quickly that chaos cannot be removed from the universe. They learned many ways of balancing this chaos through their creation of the elemental planes, each one chaos on its own but giving balance to the rest. As more planes began to be created throughout the cosmology of the universe, Ilia realized that there needed to be an eternal balancing. It was in this realization that they decided to make two planes; one of perfect order and law, Mechanus, and one of never ending chaos, Limbo. These planes are closely linked to each other, despite being opposites. They do not only balance one another, but the entire cosmological structure of the universe.
