Words

“Dance through life and you shall never miss a beat.”

Clan Shiroi is likely the most accepting of outsiders. They have mages who teleport merchants into the walled city with no gate as a way of completely controlling who comes and goes out of the city. One must not get on the poor side of a Shiroi merchant or mage, for they shall never leave the walled city. The Shiroi are known for their love of song and dance as the Royal Family has taken great efforts for the last 1,000 years to ensure the prosperity of the art. Shiroi dancers and singers train their entire life to perform in front of the Royals in the palace. Shiroi commoners who do not choose the vocation still have elements of this in their daily life. Your average citizen in Shiroi controlled territory noticeably has more of a bounce to their step and a whistle on their lips than most Atarashins. This has led to them being seen as more flamboyant by the other clans but this is not necessarily true at all. Dirges and slow dances of bravado and courage are just as valued as the spectacled painted women dancers. One must be wary of the Shiroi however, some have been known to distract outsiders to take advantage of them with their elegant ways.

Royal Family

Rather than being ruled by one single despot, the Shiroi family is a council that acts unanimously. The main head of the council is Father Taroshi who does most of the talking on behalf of the family council due to his naturally charismatic charm. He is a handsome young man of about 40 years of age and is seen as the face of the family. However, it is said that when the council convenes on matters of judgment, even one poor opinion from any of the family could result in destruction. Once a farmer came to the family asking for relief from the famine, but his grotesque features caused the youngest Shiroi, only a baby at the time, to cry. The farmer was never heard from again.
