He doesn’t want her to destroy everything he has worked hard for. She’s scared that he won’t want and accept her for who she is
Caoimhe’s Darkest Secret: • She wants to take down her father due to all of the hardships he’s caused her and for all of the lives of others he’s taken. ○ Her relationship with her father has changed her. After she finds out the truth about his power and wealth, for someone who never wants to hurt anyone, he brings out a rage in her she’s never felt before. He is her greatest obstacle. He will either be her undoing or her greatest achievement. ○ Only her mother, and Magnus, knows about her father’s illegal actions. She doesn’t want her siblings to know so they won’t get hurt, although she needs to do something about him to ensure their overall safety.

The story of Caoimhe (KEE-va) Sætre (sigh-eh-t-rrruh) begins with her air genasi family. Being the youngest of seven siblings, Caoimhe had a lot of competition that always ended with her not being good enough in the eyes of her father and other Genasi’s. Caoimhe always knew she was different, not just because of her looks, though she wasn’t as blue as her family, like how an air genasi should look like, but her powers didn’t live up to family expectations. She was always an odd one out with everything she was involved in, and she was constantly made fun of despite her kindness and bubbly personality, instead of being haughty and flamboyant like many others. Sadly, her father never accepted her for her difference, and he has never shown her the kindness and love he shows her siblings.
For around 8 years, Caoimhe has had a strong liking towards a man named Magnus Wilhelm Larsen. He’s from Wexany, a place she’s never been to. He began working for her father when he was 23, and she was only 18 years old. They became friends because they didn’t have any other friends. Within a few years, she began to grow romantic feelings towards him, yet she always felt he didn’t feel the same way. Caoimhe hoped to be able to marry him one day, but her father refused due to him coming from a lowly family. She’s already not very liked in their society because she’s not like other genasi’s, so he doesn’t want her to draw even more attention by bringing shame to their family by marrying someone beneath them. Caoimhe still doesn’t lose hope though because she believes love is more important than class.
All of Caoimhe’s siblings have been married to rich families, yet no one has shown any interest in the last daughter. Feeling embarrassed and ashamed, Caoimhe’s father set her up with a man who works for him. There’s nothing special, attractive, or even interesting about this man, yet her father knew she would never get married if her spouse wasn’t arranged. Even though Caoimhe was against this arranged marriage, she didn’t fight back on her father’s orders. One evening, she was out with the man she was going to marry, Kjorg, and in the midst of his drunken stupor, he let out the secret of her father’s wealth and power. With great shame and anger, she left Kjorg and ran back to her home to warn her mother. As she approached the door to her parent’s bedroom, she heard yelling from the other side. Full of curiosity, she rested her ear on the door, eavesdropping on their conversation. A few words were thrown back and forth until she heard the name Carric Liadon mentioned. A few moments later, her mother, sobbing, admitted that she had an affair with a high elf 27 years ago, to which she birthed Caoimhe.
After learning two majorly shocking things at once, she ran to her room, packed up as much as she could, and fled. She headed towards her only sanctuary and prayed to Pelor for wisdom and help. No one else in her family prayed to the gods, but Caoimhe took comfort in praying ever since she was a young girl. Due to her not being welcomed in her society, she didn’t feel as alone when she knew the gods were there to help her. That night, she felt a holy and powerful presence surrounding her. She heard her name being called out by a loud voice, telling her that she was being chosen to do their will. All of a sudden, a surge of energy and power entered her body as she felt a divine magic course through her. She immediately knew who was talking to her, Pelor. He chose her because of her devotion to him and her caring heart.
Caoimhe always knew she was different and meant for something important, but she never knew to become a Cleric was going to be her path. With her father’s hatred towards her, her illegitimacy, and her limited knowledge of the real world, she sets out on a journey to help others with her newfound Cleric abilities. Caoimhe wants to explore and experience new things; she wants to finally enjoy life and search for things she has never had, to find a romance with the man she’s always liked, and not get caught by her father. She might even want to try to find her birth father along the way.
