Kukolni Denisovich (Real name) was born to Chernobog and Olga Denisovich in Üst-Izhma. He was separated from them at an early age when his mother and father were unable to reach mining quotas. A puppeteer and secret worshipper of Asmodeus took Kukolni under his wing as he was alone in the world. Gorski began grooming his adoptive son to be a vessel for the rebirth of the betrayer god. When Gorski was taken away by the guard captain Volkovoi, Kukolni took up Gorski’s puppet and was indoctrinated slowly by Asmodeus. His skin slowly turned red as he was corrupted. This was done partially to prepare his body to serve as a better host and partially so his parents and real family, devout followers of Ioun, would not recognize him. Kukolni was the runt of his real family. He was the youngest of 5. (In order from oldest to youngest): Bathsheba, Grigori, Dniepo, Volodomir, Servechnya. The last three died in Üst-Izhma after disease broke out. Bathsheba is now a canoness of Ioun in a convent and Grigori is a missionary currently in the Wild Wastes.
5 years between escape and circus When he first escaped he was starving in the highlands near Castle Whitestone after wondering for weeks. He was saved by a boy his age out exploring the woods named Bannock. His family took Kukolni in until Asmodeus caused him to burn their house down. Bannock’s whereabouts are unknown currently. Kukolni found his way East into Hagarvia where a temple of monks took him in. The monks taught him some acrobatic abilities and how to defend himself. One day while juggling with his puppet while doing a headstand to collect money, he was recognized by Alfonso who invited him to join the circus, Kukolni denied the offer for the time. Meanwhile, Kukolni while under the control of Asmodeus at night, committed a string of murders across various towns in the East. He had to flee as authorities became wiser and joined a caravan of missionaries heading back to Tarkir under the leadership of Grigori who had escaped as well after a successful riot. Neither brother recognized each other, but Grigori, sensing evil in the red Tiefling attempted to kill him. Running for his life he ran into Kurz Uproot searching through the garbage for a snack in Verdalka. Kurz scared off the hostile missionaries and brought Kukolni back to the circus where he ran into Alfonso again and took his offer to join the circus to stay on the road and avoid suspicion.
