Ideals
Gender Ideals
The Ardun are a matriarchical culture, much like the Orkhir that they draw their roots from, however they don't have the same harsh rules around leadership that the Orkhir do, prefering to allow the most qualified person leadership positions regardless of their gender.
Courtship Ideals
While the Ardun, like the Orkhir, don't observe a traditional marriage ceremony, they adopted a symbol of familial bonding under the influence of the Nymphos culture. This bonding consists of both parteners recieving a tatoo on their backs, starting just below their birth tatoo. This tatoo is a combination of the symbols of their own birth tatoos and is a tradition observed when their first child is born. As each person has children with other parteners they continue to have their tatoos put underneath each other, and subsequent children with the same partener will grant them tatoos beside the original tatoo of that family. This results in an intricate pattern displaying a persons family that they can carry with them.
Relationship Ideals
Families in the Ardun culture are often relatively small, usually consisting of 2 parents, 2-4 children, and often a familial guardian living within a houshold. The familial guardian is usually a brother of either parent who is responsible with assisting the father in the raising of the children.
It is also common for the father of a family to care for his woman's parents after their own children have all left to begin families of their own.
