War of the Gods

In the age of the gods, there was conflict before the eventual peace and creation. Most cultures refer to Old Ones when speaking of the characters in these tales: Moradin and Corellon in particular. The powers of good combatted the dark forces of demons and devils, ultimately triumphing and creating the world as it is known today. Dwarves seem to lay the deed primarily on Moradin, while elves tend to refer to Corellon as the hero. However, since dwarf society is more widespread and social than elf society, it is more common to find that lay folk know Moradin as the hero of the gods.

Historical Basis

There is a fair degree of indication to suggest the time period, and ensuing battles existed. Further legends about the time span the landscape of Illium.
