Tarian

Tarian, known as "The Stalwart City," is a fortress built on the land pass between the Itherian Wastes and the rest of Illyria. It has a long history of guarding the pass and keeping the orcs trapped in the desert.
The fortress was built in ancient times by the Illyrian Kingdoms to guard against the incursions of the orc tribes from the north. Tarian quickly became a vital part of the empire's defenses, with its strategic location allowing it to control access to the land pass between the desert and the rest of Illyria.
Over the centuries, Tarian has been attacked numerous times by the orc tribes, but its walls have always held strong. The city's defenders are known for their bravery and tenacity, and they have repelled countless attacks by the orcs. As a result of its strategic location, Tarian has played a critical role in keeping the orcs trapped in the Itherian Wastes. With the fortress guarding the only land passing through the desert, the orcs have been unable to launch large-scale attacks on the rest of Illyria. They have been forced to eke out a living in the harsh desert, raiding caravans and settlements for supplies.
Despite its vital role in keeping the orcs trapped, Tarian has not always been popular with the other cities of Illyria. Many of them see the fortress as a symbol of oppression, a reminder that their land is under constant threat from the barbarian tribes of the north. In recent years, however, attitudes towards Tarian have begun to change. With the rumored rise of a new orc warlord in the Itherian Wastes, the importance of the fortress has become more apparent than ever. The orcs have launched a series of devastating raids on the surrounding cities, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Now, more than ever, Tarian is seen as a vital bastion of defense against the orc threat. Its defenders are hailed as heroes, and the city's walls and towers are once again being reinforced and strengthened. The people of Illyria know that as long as Tarian stands, there is hope that they can hold back the tide of barbarism from the north.
