Sommers End
A faint light in the white void
Sommers End hangs on the edge of the Algid bluffs, long costal cliff face at the northern edge of Asmaria. The stone city looks out on the rocky, turbulent shores below. Despite its drab and bleak appearance, within its walls contain a wooden houses glowing with warm light, giant stone towers that look down upon the bustling streets below.
The city is bisected by long stretch of river that ends as a waterfall at the edge of the cliff. In the distance, like a grey smudge on the horizon is the Somber Keep; the cities capital separated by miles of sea, and connected by a large bridge that takes half a day to cross.
The city is ruled by Osiraq, the lich-king of Asmaria. He is a benevolent ruler as lich's go, and has ruled the prosperous nation for over 500 years.
Demographics
The city has a mostly Human, Dwarf, and Gnome population with very little Elves.
Government
The city is ruled by both Osiraq, and the Asmarian council. The council is a relatively new institution.
Defences
Should the city ever come under attack, Sommers End is fortified with the latest defences such as large ballistas, cannons, mortars, and a heavy iron gate fortified with steel anchors, and enchanted with unbreakable runes. If those should fail the city is littered with secret pathways that lead under the sea and into the Somber Keep. The bridge is rigged to fall into the sea should this ever come to pass, though the likelihood of the city coming under attack is improbable. Asmaria is an important trade nation and maintains a good relation with most other countries.
Industry & Trade
Sommers End is an important trade city that exports lumber, coal, copper, and various craft good all across Staljord.

The city is broken into four quadrants with the sides of the river acting as a fifth district. The top left is the winter district, the bottom is the summer district, the bottom left is the spring district, and the top left is the autumn district. Each district has a single church devoted to the god of its corresponding season except for the river district which is devoted to the god Njord.
