Demographics

All manner of races travel and live in City of Bridges, with no particular race standing out as dominant. There is little discrimination, as those who have lived there for generations have seen it all.

Government

Though technically part of the northern reaches of the Falondan Empire, City of Bridges stands apart as a city ruled by merchant guild representatives. Though there is a governor appointed by the ruling monarch back in Falon, the guildmasters and their representatives are the ones with the true power.

Defences

All three giant bridges that connect the city are drawbridges, able to be withdrawn in the event of a siege.

Industry & Trade

The home of traders, City of Bridges supports river trade in particular. All manner of goods pass through, both legal and illicit.

Infrastructure

City of Bridges was built at the nexus of two rivers; the Shatterspine Iceflow and the Northern River, which combined at this point to create the origin of the Great Falondan River, which flows all the way to Falon Bay. One of the most technologically advanced cities in the world as a result of all of the incoming incoming information and varied cultural perspectives, City of Bridges has developed huge water wheels that power the city through heating giant boilers beneath the cobbled streets.

History

Founded as a simple trading post on the way down from the Shatterspine Ridge, City of Bidges grew slowly and steadily, until the advent of the water wheel, which exploded the technological potential of the city.

Using a combination of stone and wood, along with more technologically advanced materials, City of Bridges is an eclectic amalgam of various styles and cultures from across the world. Falondan bridgeworks sit beside Corvininan temples and Sumethran spires.
