The Raven Queen

The Raven Queen feels solely responsible for keeping the balance of life with the constant ending of death. Many great wizards and necromancers have attempted to understand her motives to outwit them, but like a raven she has always remained cryptic, keeping her cache of secrets just out of their reach.

Who is she?

She is a deity. Much beyond that is unknown. She rarely, if ever, manifests in a physical form, instead often communicating through a series of seemingly miscellaneous symbols, forms, or images. The Raven Queen, unlike other deities, has not communicated her relations with any other deities if she has any, though it is claimed a sect of Wood Elf dedicated themselves to her, and may be able to communicate with her. What does she concern herself with?

The Raven Queen concerns herself with the transitions between the realities of life and death, and in keeping order between those. According to this Wood Elf sect, her commandments are as follows:

1. Death is the natural end to life. Grieve the fallen, but do not pity them. Exalt in the time they were given.
2. The Path of Fate is Sacred. Those who cast off destiny will be brought to Justice.
3. Undeath is a foremost atrocity. Death is too good of a punishment for those who pervert the sacred and rightful conclusion of life.

What is holy to her?

Ravens are one of her most prized possessions. Though not every raven is in the service of their queen, she did create the species to help guide those from life into death. Occasionally, when the time is right and the circumstances come together correctly, she will indeed send a personal raven to someone in her employ she has want or need of.
