The Aurealian Rebellion of 297 SOL in the Province of Zelusia under the Eastern Aurealian Empire was caused by the peasants' discontent with the oppressive rule and rising taxes of the Aurealian government. Led by Aurelius Acominatus, they aimed to establish an independent state by capturing the surrounding provinces and fortifying Zelusia. However, the Aurealian legion, commanded by General Andronikos V Petrezok, was deployed from Novaria to quell the rebellion. After the rebels captured Thessaly and Zelusia, the Aurealian army faced off against them, winning the battle and slaying Aurelius. The remaining rebels retreated to Zelusia but were soon starved out and defeated by the Aurealian Empire, re-establishing their control over Southern Helion.
