Celestial Affinity

Celestial Affinity is a condition given to all living things from the celestial gods. When a creature is born, their rays affect their bodies and alter them slightly allowing them to use the associate magic of the celestial god in the sky during their birth. This persists throughout life and gives certain conditions unique to the strain you possess.

Transmission & Vectors

The magic from the celestial gods attune to us when we are first born. During birth creatures are very susceptible to their rays and attunement must occur during their first year of life. Attunement takes only a few seconds, but for it to fully develop it takes till adulthood when growth of the condition ends.

Symptoms

Solar Affinity:

  • Ability to use Solar Magic
  • Solar Magic resistance
  • Their body temperature is slightly higher on average.
  • Their body height is slightly lower on average
  • Weaker eyesight

Lunar Affinity:

  • Ability to use Lunar Magic
  • Lunar Magic resistance
  • Their body temperature is slightly lower on average.
  • Their body height is slightly higher on average
  • Weaker Immune system

Treatment

This is a permanent condition that has no cure or treatment, but we have no reason to find one.

Prevention

Theoretically one could have a child in a magic resistance bunker then aged to the point of adulthood then they would have no affinity. However this hasn't been tested and even the dwarfs would live beneath the surface still receive affinities, so it's unknown if it can be prevented.

Cultural Reception

Everyone has this condition, but what type you have can play into the stereotypes surrounding the people of a type. While not all apply to an individual, people tend to associate these traits with these affinities.
