Memory Mirror

A psychic scrying tool

This is a mirror of platinum. It allows the user to concentrate on a specific item, person, or area and then be shown something of its past for three rounds. In order to use its power, the user must face its reflective surface at the viewing target and activate the mirror by channeling positive energy or employing some other method to invoke the mirror's psychic sensitivity. The mirror may show details of the past out of order and events both recent or long ago, randomly. The viewer has no way of knowing when an event took place and gains only visual images of events displayed in the mirror (no sound). This device is only usable once a week and the vision is usually somewhat cryptic.

In areas of heightened psychic trauma or intense emotional memory, the mirror may begin to pulse, intermittently glowing light blue and emitting a low vibrational hum. In these circumstances the mirror may be activated without expending its weekly charge and may retain a bonus charge by siphoning the residual psychic energy lingering amidst the viewing target.

Discovery

The Memory Mirror was used on Zen while he was being held prisoner in Farport by the Vril sage known as Pacui. The members of the Thorpe expedition took possession of it when they defeated Pacui and freed Zen from captivity. The party discovered how to use the mirror when they encountered a powerful psychic emanation at the site of the Trinity skyfire detonation.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

This decoratively adorned oval mirror emanates a moderate divination aura and bears no notable markings or inscriptions. The surface of the mirror is absolutely flawless and bears no tarnishes or warpings.
